Effect of land preparation methods on restoration success of degraded oak forest ecosystems

Estimation of the success ecosystem restoration through different methods is essential planning projects, especially nowadays when world community has declared target for an effective 25% degraded ecosystems in next years. In present study, we intro­duce results application two land preparation – soil ripping and terracing - on twenty years after actions. The study concerns reforested areas with species Quercus pubescens, a deciduous oak species. both estimation ecological conditions was carried out as well stand growth volume data, based following field measurements: fertility vegetation analysis, tree morphological characteristics, vol­umetric characteristics. analysis showed that method “soil ripping”, greatly improved all studied parameters comparing to “terracing” method. More specifically, it physical chemical properties soils, coverage composition flora species, enhanced existence more woody It privi­leged pubescens trees contributing higher volume.
